Excursions and water sports
Los Haitises National Park
Los Haitises National Park stretches over 2,000 miles of virgin rainforest, mangroves and paradisiacal beaches, and is home to some 230 species of birds, many endemic to the Dominican Republic.
The park is famous for its caves where you will find spectacular Taino pictographs and petroglyphs. There are still many caves that have not yet been excavated, as they are almost impossible to reach.
Its scenery is spectacular, with hills and mounds rising 40 metres off the ground, it is without a doubt one of the best and almost obligatory visits to make in Samaná.
El Limón Waterfall
Enjoy lush landscapes and breathtaking viewpoints on this excursion combining a horseback ride and a 30-minute hike.
After this beautiful walk you will be rewarded with a refreshing dip in the famous 40 metre high natural waterfall of El Limón.
Whale watching
From mid-January to the end of March, Samaná Bay is the perfect setting for the sighting of humpback whales that visit these waters during the breeding season.
